How many days after the SORN expires do you get to renew it untill you get fined?

Reason being my Corsa's ran out on Thursday, and ive only just remembered :confused:

AFAIK fines are automatically generated the moment it expires.

i taxed a car 2 days after it expired (completely forgot) and never heard anything, dont quote me but i think you get 5 days from date of expiry,

Yeas... I've never actually heard of anyone getting a fine for being late mind. Even though they're supposed to be generated as soon as lol

I forgot to tax or SORN a car for 23 days once... nothing happened to me

I let the tax run out on a car for 2 months (it wasn't being driven at all so I forgot), after the two months I got fined something like 40 quid plus the 2 months arrears. Exact same thing happened my bro. So maybe its after two months??
