Cons i'd say high milage, Pros cheap cause of the milage. Pro you hear stories of police motors getting tasty upgrades

the high milage wont realy bother me as they have full history and if they need any thing they get it (mechanical wise)

They often have lots of holes in the dash and body work where equipment was screwed in. Had an ex police omega at work last year with holes all over it!

As above you find there will be holes, bangs, dents and such but theyre usually expertly maintained with no cost spared and all genuine bits and will usually have all good tyres and brakes too, you do hear of them being tuned but the feds adamantly swear theyre not, i reckon its more of a case of theyre serviced on the dot when they should be so are probably in better mechanical condition than youre average joe public equal if that makes any sense lol

cons, roof full of holes, dash butchered for switches/radios high mileage

pros, cheap as you like, maintained to a very high standard
also, i believe there was meant to be a special high output version of the MV6 especially for the old bill? win

i'd certainly buy one without a second thought though

Note the servicing might not be as super amazing as you think... Police have budgets to stick to so servicing might have been extended as far as possible/scrimped on in some areas.

Plus they would have been abused within an inch of their life.

my mate got hold of a ex police cav turbo, he bought it for 600 body was shagged but he just bought it for engine box and workin transfer box just so he had spares for his, he tried the ecu in his and it ran a higher boost and was a lot quicker than a standard ecu so the prob have differant maps or something.

Ex police cars are worth every penny if your buying to keep for a few years.

Yep. I can tell you now that government cars, whilst serviced relatively regularly, may not necessarily be done to a particularly high standard.

They come without glass, the rear doors need handles etc put in, the dashes are butchered, they're full of fillers and driven like they're stolen.

They are incredibly well looked after, get everything they need and go welll. ;)

Most of the saloons will have had about 20 bonnets, 40 wings, more radiators than a block of flats and probably jigged a good few times as well due to stopping 'difficult' crims.

But I would still jump at a late police spec SRi. Theyr'e basically stealth VXR's :)
