What a load of pish.
Tell the dvla that the nova is now a 2ltr and they refused to change it! I provided engine number and receipt from garage but they say I now have to tax it first as a 2ltr and then provide them with another receipt showing engine number and cc. Apparently engine number and c20xe will not do.
All I want to do is put more money Into their coffers due to upping the tax band....they don't make it easy.
How can you tax the car when the V5 is wrong? LOL
Did you go do it at the local office over the counter?
Did you go do it at the local office over the counter?
This, so much easier! Took me 3 months to get mine changed by sending the V5 off etc, they screwed it up so many times! Have a V5 on my wall with the CC of the car as 15,981  lol

Yep, that was me going into the centre, they took all the docs of me and sent them to Swansea...
Jack, exactly- will they tax it as a 2ltr if it notes it as a 1.3. Think I'll just go to the cop shop and say look I'm trying to tax and I can't.....

Ahh, were you taxing it as well or simply updating the docs?

Just updating, or trying to update the docs. The cars off the road until it's all painted and put back together.
Wait til its back on the road then and tax it at the same time as updating the V5, as they'll do the tax over the counter.
sent my v5 off 7 weeks ago with engine and colour change on it and still hav'nt heard anything from them! does that seam a bit long?

Same as me, then I got the no change letter. Be interesting to see what they do in your case
I think what they meant was for you to tax it and put it on the road then as Jack says, do it over the counter, its easier for them to switch the tax band on your car if its taxed iirc, sure thats what i was told a few years back when i did mine, and i wrote everything down as my engine number, C20XE**********
like that but with it included as part of the number as thats how it was written on the block lol
