my c20ne has low oil pressure until 4k rpm when the light goes out, and number 1 cylinder is knocking. what i want to know is,

1. are crank bearings available in +20, +40 and +60 thou oversize?
2. what make of bearing should i be after? glyco?
3. would you change the oil pump too?
4. if so, gm pump or one from autovaux?

cheers.

glacier, ks, or any that the engineer supplies after its been ground.

simply get a gear kit & relief valve. the rest of the pump should be ok... my mums mk1 astra 1300s (owned from new) did what yours is doing & we found the back had come unscrewed off the oil pump.. i codged it back on & it ran ok for a couple of years

iok cool. i've just rang the local machinists, they want £150 just to check and grind the crank. plus another £150 to supply and fit a set of o/s bearings. think im gonna get another engine.
