thinking of making the almost 400 mile trip to billing a little early and take in a bit of practice on the friday (2x 1.5h sessions) whilst i'm in the area.

anyone been before? any tips for views etc? (guessing the bends after turn one are a must) can you get near the pits complex inbetween sessions etc?

complex makes for the best viewing, pits are a no go area

that the corner towards the end of the lap? was thinking corner one the down to turns 2,3,4 etc for the first session then round to the fast new corner at the start of the changed section and round to the last 2 or 3 turns for the second session, then on to billing for beer-tent-car wash..... :thumb:

i usually sit at luffield when watching f1, get a good view of the cars, and they're in site for a while, unlike other corner's where they just zoom past

I went last year.

Firstly get there early if you dont want to sit in a lengthy queue.

2nd take a portable radio of some sort so you can tune into race radio. Its almost impossible to work out whose doing what otherwise. Some ear defenders save you from ear ache. Likewise a pair of small binoculars are handy cos the big screens can be difficult to read

The action out of the pitlane is worth watching but there are good views from many corners so my advice is to wander around and check it out for yourself. Annoyingly a lot of the good viewing points require a more expensive ticket to get into them and often they are quite empty which is gay.

Hope you have a good day and enjoy yourself - the noise is awesome!:thumb:

I've always stuck with Copse..

First corner after the start/finish line..

Opposite the pit lane exit..

You can see a fair bit of pit activity, too..

Corner is fairly quick and in the non-seating areas, is quite close to track..

Fair bit of action here during practice as the cars are being set up..

And of course there are support races on the Friday & Saturday....

You used to be able to get pit access years ago (I did in 1990)..

If you bought a full weekend ticket, you often got pit lane access passes..

That's all stopped now (unless you are part of a hospitality package)..

Sadly not there this year, but i'll be back next year...
