F13 F15, I doubt F10 will without changing flywheel etc

Not fused about changing flywheel. But my current gearbox (f10) has desired cwp and zf LSD.

What flywheel would it need? I'm sure my dif will fit in an f13 which I have a spare from a gsi. Plus obviously the cwp. Plus I guess the f13 is stronger box?

every thing from a f10 will fit a f13 that how i built mine and ya wont have to worry about your fly wheel

the basic difference between the post '85 f10 box & the f13 box is that the f13 was designed with a larger bellhousing to accomodate the larger flywheel & clutch used on the 1400mpi & 1600 smallblock engines. the innards are the same.

Oh spot on, assuming my f10 is post 85? I can just swap all the internals into an f13 and fit it onto 1400/1600 16v :)

yes.

there really are very few left of the old sort with crap bearings that allways failed, i had one once......

Thanks mowgli :) you always seem to have the answers to my questions lol how can I tell if it's an old one? As my car is A reg sr :s but hopefully it's not original box :)

the only way is to take the box apart......and have a look in an old haynes

if it is an original f10 from an sr, it will be a wide ration box with a 4.18 diff.

if you find an f13cr, the gears will be way better close ratios, and the diff will fit.. the final drive gears are easy to swap over with a puller too..

the only reason i seem to be able to answer you is that small engined mk1's are my thing, all this big block mk2 stuff isn't for me, but johnH is planning to try & cure me......... it won't work.

thats exactly my combination only i used f10 close ratio gears and the 4.18 cwp and its a cracker has a tranex limo to and by the way its for sale to

I have an f13cr already as a spare:) so if I fit my zf LSD and 4.53 final drive out of the f10 it'l be same as my f10 now or maybe even better? As I love the set up of my gearbox :)

yea every is interchangable internally so you can make one out of the two just use all the best bits

cr & 4.53 diff....... your gearstick must be moving like a hummingbirds wing when you are accelerating

I use the car for road rallys so it's all about acceleration, if that's what you mean. It revs to 7200 to :) I'm mainly flat in 3rd though. Plus got a short shift thingy so quit nice and tight :)

i take it the engine has some grunt

It's ok. It's 1300 with 1200st pistons, lightened crank flywheel, group A head and cam and it's on webber 32/34. But thinking of going 1.4 16v but not sure what power it's capable of, as I have to keep standard injection, throttle body and plenum chamber?

mowgli

i thought you were fitting the irmscher injection

didn't it work out?

I fitted it. But had problems getting it to run. It run once and all semmed fine but after that it would intamitatly squirt fuel so would only run for seconds at a time. Tryed earths new ecu afm etc :s

Ho this all takes me back to road rallying my old mk1 1.3 Astra back in the 80's (yes I am old) good fun was had.
Back to your problem yes all the bits from your F10 will fit into the F13 no probs I've just put a 4.18 cwp from a F10 into my F13 cr with LSD easy to do.:thumb:
