I'm in need of a replacement ecu so I'm off to the scrappies is there any way of identifying what engine the ecu is from if it's not with the car

the ecu I need is for a c14se from a corsa anyway of telling by the numbers?

You need to know the ident code as well as the part number.

The ident is a two digit code - important to get this right, as it can mean a difference in map or security or not etc

If you can get a part number for the ECU or a reg plate for a 1.4 SRi Corsa I can get the details easily enough.

Ok, ident code is actually four digits: This is what EPC brings up for your reg:

You'll see that the ECU is listed separately from the rom chip that contains the map. Either ident should be fine for your car, seems Vx don't have breakpoint info on the chassis numbers.

In practice a factory fitted ECU will have a sticker with bold type with the ident on so it's easy enough to check both part# and ident at the scrappy.

C14SE off a Mk3 Astra, which will work fine on a Corsa too
