Skirts??
lol

GSi seats are allowed though lol
GTE skirts fella ;)
vaughanmc

Call it GTE though to make the title more effective
I was just getting at the lack of GSi bumpers, spoiler, colour coded'ness, REDTOP etc
Can't help thinking your nova could do with a GSi bumper or a splitter Vaughan, or else lowered more or something, well presented etc as usual though.
Whats under the bonnet of the mk1?
what seats do you have again?
Skirts??
lol
Not 1 bit to be seen, but 2 lol

Two very nice motors :)
Yeah was going to say the same, both have gsi wheels
vaughanmc
29-06-10, 08:13 PM
lol I've a Laguna splitter in the garage but doubt I'll fit it
I'm not lowering it any more as it catches the front wings as it is and it looks nice the way it sits - As useable as it gets
Mk1 SR has a 1650cc 8v engine on 40's and a lot of work done to it - Was RR'd a few years back at 147BHP I think...Not sure what it's got now though
Cheers for the comments so far
Nice pics, both look very very tidy.
Not sure on the rear spoiler tho Vaughan, put a gsi one on lol
speedlines ?
did they not come std on gsi ?
I was gonna say the same.. As they sadly all seem to have them.
Cars look nice tho guys.

lol Nah I'm not spending any more money on this motor
Coming off the road in Januray
Still makes me laugh the anti GSi crew..
The reason their so popular is because the look the best!
(For a Mk2 ;-))

Yeah I hate when the chassis number doesn't match the bumper, totally ruins the look of the car, I'm going to leave the carpet in my floor to hide it if I ever get a gsi bumper lol

Cheers :)
I have to say I'm drawn to the Mk1 more as well but with me building my Mk1 I'll can have best of both worlds and also they'll both be red :)
With Greg's SR following behind me we had a wee fool about going through the town, the noise of 40's is f*cking amazing! Cannot wait to hear mine battering through the town, noise bouncing off the walls!
Each to their own - I'm just not a big fan of replicas lol
They look just the same :wtf:lol But of course there not "original" lol
Tbh most of the really nice gsi's nova's ive seen are replica's

At the end of the day, there's a reason everyone uses Gsi bumpers.

*Skips to the end*
Agreed on the fail with gte/GSi skirts and interior. lol
More whoring, or some new additions?
Dude I never understood what's with the old style Griffin on the back? Looks odd with that Predator spoiler too IMO.
Looking clean as per. :thumb:

I guess GSI styling is now a uncool thing? Both look really nice, love that mk1! Only thing i would change about yours is the spoiler, looks out of place with the subtle styling in my opinion! But each to there own mate.

i really like the predator spoiler its diffrent i mean how often do you see a nova with 1??? looking good mate only thing i would change is the front end lol
vaughanmc
01-07-10, 05:32 PM
Predator spoiler is a wee bit different and I personally like it but each to their own
Some Mk2's came with the square griffin and it makes the boot look a bit more interesting as well
i love the two of them cant beat a red nova best colour of all on them i presume flame red
vaughanmc
01-07-10, 06:07 PM
Yes both Flame Red mate and my Mk1 Nova is also getting re-painted in that colour too
Can't wait, I'll have a Flame Red Mk1 and Mk2 :)
love that colour on them mine is going the same colour hopefully in a week or so started a project thread on it

believe it or not that might actually be a GSi thing! mine had one although it was a little smaller iirc
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v82/Big_Chap/car4.jpg
check the date stamp on that badboy!^^^
I don't really understand why its fashionable to slate GSi's with speedlines these days much like i don't understand the mk1-ers hating the mk2's. end of the day we all drive nova's therefor all get looked down on in much the same way!
PS. sig edit time me thinks!...:thumb:
PPS. both look good! :)

Wtf, you mean you actually know what chassis numbers all GSi's were and get upset when you see a GSi bumper on one that aint a GSi
Would the world end if somebody got a GSi and put a pov spec bumper on?

next project!
mk1 pus on a GSi with pov bumpers, mk1 dash, rubber rear head rest conversion and angled "peco style" rear box!

i took that as sarcasm but don't know the dude...

I have a near photographic memory of every nova chassis number ever produced, their model, options, and what colour the air freshener was when it left the showroom.

I don't HATE GSi Nova's but just think there over-rated and done to death
I like seeing a clean base model inspired Nova or even an SR/SRi something a wee bit different
Speedlines rule though lol Best wheel for that era of Vauxhall

wasn't aimed at you, just a general statement all be it in your thread.
how times have changed, when i was a nipper everyone had base models and aspired to the GSi/GTE's! i had a 13sr for a first car and felt like royalty!
first car was 13sr to and loved it very much so much so i still have it terminally rotten but cant bear to part with it
ps thats 11 years now

My Mk2 is coming off the road in Jan due to rot - Cba to get it sorted and I just want to keep a hold of it
One day it might see the road again but it's not looking likely any time soon
I need to play in the Mk1 lol

After owning a 1.2 merit for 16 years from new I'm very happy to be driving a really boring proper gsi shell with bland speedlines. Wouldn't mind a mk1 with speedlines though. I'm just boring though. Says he who wakes the entire street at 2am tearing off at stupid miles an hourlol
lol @ not a fan of lookalikes yet you call your car an SRi looker (on occasion)
Despite the wheels/interior/spoiler/vinyl etc all being missing or wrong. lol

Looks like an SRi from the front but it's not an SRi replica wasn't set out to be an SRi
I wouldn't go out my way to build a replica - Sport, SRi, GSi replica
I take bits from each model and make something different

Seriously where? Looks clean dude
You'll see at Billing if you go
Back arches need attention, boot corners are starting to go (No rot/holes yet though) Back panel is shot, passenger suspension turret (engine bay) is splitting again and theres a hole under the passenger seat
Looks clean but it's not that clean
It's not hanging with rust it's just not clean
I've had my fun out it though and still more to come
After Billing this year I'll have done 4 English Vauxhall shows, Total Vauxhall at Crail and all the Scotland PNG meets so I'm happy
I'd rather use and abuse it than have it locked away for no-one to see
K245 TCS's days are numbered lol lol lol
I saw it last year and yep will see it this yeah. Probs don't remember talking to me though haha

Sorry mate, I can't lol
hey, like your cars, they look to be in ace condition but do know what you mean about Mk2s, I have had 2 and they often look better than they actually are.
The SR is stunning, being very square as i am i would be tempted to make it completely original, grey bottom half/mirrors, Sr alloys, oramge inicators/repeaters etc. But as you are not ancient like me, you want to keep it looking cool and not old fashioned. the impressive thing about the mods you have made is that they are all easy to change if you change your mind. great to see cars in excellent condition it has been good to see them and good luck with them both.

Good shout, always figured it was due to a lack of vauxhall badge on the rear
My H reg GSi was the same as well. Just the K reg's were different I think with a round Vauxhall badge and Vauxhall on the vinyl.
Wouldnt mind me a tidy all original GSi in white TBH.
