Lambda sensor

I have a 3 wire Bosch Lambda sensor please can someone tell me what each wire is for.I have two brown wires and a purple wire.

The 2 brown are for the heater element (earth + Pos), the purple will be for the signal wire, will be a 1v sensor and will earth through the manifold :D

I am wiring it up to a air/fuel ratio gauge would I be right in thinking that I need to wire the heater wires to a igntion feed and the other to earth.Then the third purple wire to my gauge.

No the heater element is controled by the ecu and will be only 5v (maybe 1 Volt)

Lambda heater is +12v.
