just went to local motor factors to get new handbrake cables, guy said there was 2 types for each side, anybody had hassle before, thought all novas would be the same???? cheers

couldn't he tell you what the differences were?

is it the early manual adjust ones are different to the later self adjust ones?

Is it not which way the long cable runs from the handbrake to either the left or right brake on the beam, maybe wrong?????:confused:

think it was length, its an f reg 1.2 shell, didnt know novas had a difference in which side the long cable went to.

should be due to chassis numbers ie different attachments on the cables!

had this problem a few weeks back bought both bits of cable only to have to change them for the other type

i think mk1 nova long cables go to the passenger side and mk2 long goes to the drivers side, so if you buy long and short cables off the same year nova they will fit either way :thumb:

Measure your old cables and compare the sizes? The parts book should have the lengths.
