Right well my bolts holding the O/S mount on the lump of my derv broke on Saterday, the engine needs to be removed so I migth aswell fit the 1.7 now

Right well I have got

Strenghting plates
Drives shafts
Gear box spacer plate
Engine and F18What else will I need, I am going to check the engine over before fitting of course

Do you need to ditch the oil cooler??

Do I need to cut the lug off the gear box??

How to I make the gear linkage fit?? Is it just a case of spinning it of something ?

Do I need to know anything else,?? I am hoping to have it fitted in arounf 4-6weeks and the engine built in 2 weeks

Thanks Dan

With the linkage, You need to file down the white block and spin it.

As far as i know its the same principles as fitting a big block petrol motor only you dont need a drivers mount lol.

i just thought you took the 1.5 out, fitted all the bits onto the 1.7 & stuck it back in......

I could but the F13 wouldn't stand it Bearing in mind mine were 132ft lbs and a 1.7 would hopefully be 170ft lbs+

Front mount it for less hassle and more performance imo.

Rads to big, and am not cutting holes in my front pannels,.. Top mouth is so easy, just have a look at yours, the cooler will go on top of the inlet and thats half the reason why I cut mine down

But you have to ventilate it which means vandalising the bonnet with some form of chav vent, which is far more visible than a hole in the front panel :p
