First off, easy on the caps beghy.

Secondly, you don't know what this lad is using his car for or what other mods he's got. The AST2 cam might be exactly what he's after. Yes, it will be lumpy at low down revs, but it'll work wonders higher up the rev range.

There are all sorts of Cams available to suit your car. Give Velos a ring 01283 542484 and ask them for some advice on what Cam you should get. They have a website which might provide you with a bit more of an idea as to what your after http://www.vmotorsport.fsnet.co.uk/

Hope this helps

Jim

ermm just to continue the ast2 talk  , i have just fitted this in replacement of a 285 piper cam, the car is ideal for town driving and not at all lumpy (the piper was worse), it will also pull cleanly in 5th from as low as 24mph and gradually improve as power builds.

Now i know my 1650 engine is a tad diff to most that would follow this route but all the same please dont just expect it to be harsh, as mike has said it seemed fine in his also. As for mine it still needs a r/r to get everything from it but i am sure CP will back me up in my finds as we drove the car for 2 1/2hrs back to mine after doing the cam swap.

In the coming months i shall be doing a report on r/r and various mods and why u need to get the car tuned etc etc etc. just need to get mine finished as its previous poor results and whatever i get next time will be used just to show certain aspects and reasons etc etc
