View Full Version : 5 Stud Smallblock
I am running a smallblock gearbox and 4-stud wheels, I also have a disk rear beam.
I have a full Cav V6 rear beam and Cav V6 front legs.
So, I am assuming that I can unbolt the 4-stud rear and replace with the 5-stud hubs, but how do I get a 5 stud front whilst still maintaining a smallblock gearbox?
Cheers in advance.

The Vectra that my smallblock engine came from was 5-stud, so I'd have to say your wrong..lol
If your shafts fit the vectra hubs then get them machined down to fit nova bearings?

Haven't got the vectra hubs, but I do have the vectra shafts, 1 end fits the F17 gearbox (not running a F17 btw, probably an F15 corsa Box) and the other fits the 5-stud vectra hub, but obviously the shafts are too long for a Nova.
Well the proper way would be to get new shafts made, or the ruff way would be cut and weld but I wouldn't cut and weld shafts.

the shafts are two long though, the only other way is cut and shut shafts !!!
it come up quite a few time on here iirc
I'm not going to cut and shut anything..
I'll need to check, but I'm wondering if the vectra outer CV joint is specially designed to fit on a smallblock shaft and if so, may fit a Nova shaft.

vectra are big block outer mate !
small block inner iirc
Then I may be able to use conversion shafts with the vectra Inner...Nevermind, I'll figure a way.
Search, lewi posted up about this.. many times.
I'm lazy and 'search' doesn't work when logging in from my mobile.
Iirc its going to involve a custom shafts, and Browney is correct its come up a few times recently
