Pull it off yourself, theyre awkward but do give in eventually, iirc mowgli wrote a pretty detailed guide on how to do it without a puller:thumb:

If you want a ride out to Long Riston today I have one you can borrow. We can actually do it there and then outside the house.

PM me your mobile no and I will give you directions.

Cheeky sod Joff lol

Steering wheel puller was not needed in the end as i knows how to wriggle wheels off, and a couple of wrives on it and 'pop' off it came :thumb:

sorry mate, my article was how to do it properly & the pitfalls of not using a puller & sometimes people wreck their column roughar$ing it.....

if it came off ok, then thats brilliant, well done to all

Sorry mowgli i was sure i had read a guide by you showing the other methods of removing one without a puller, involved things like wrapping the column in a towel and using bioling water the expand the ally of the wheel boss.

I was shown years ago by a guy in a scrappers how to wiggle them off without using tools other than a socket to undo the main column nut, im sure most peeps with common sense know not to hit the column with anything as you will fudge the threads and the head of the column lol

pull like **** for 30mins and then have a 5 min break and on that break it would of popped off on its own, done that to me twice

Nope took about two minutes to do, ask Joff or Pete (milko96) and they will both concur, you just need to know how/where to wrive on it :p

yes, i did have one wheel on so tight that i used the kettle method to pop it off, nothing would pull it. once loose it was easy.

the nova column is just deliberately so weak to ensure that when you hit it in an accident it will collapse into the dash.

there just aren't enough spare columns about these days to risk it.

Is it only the nw that has loads of nova's in scrappies?

I know theyre all pov spec, but cheesus, low on collums?

Or, you have 20, and want an ebay frenzy for them alllol

theyre low because theyve had their steering locks snapped in them, thus ruining them, and or crashed

or just fit a corsa one?

or spend a tenner on a puller & don't knacker the column in the first place.......
