right this may sound stupid but if the short shaft inner cv goes will i lose drive to both wheels as theres no resistance from one wheel?

It wont go mate... no drive. The std diff sends drive/torque to the wheel wheel with the least resistance. ie the one with no CV/shaft.
ok so my problem isnt as bad as i 1st thought.
also the rear gearbox mount bottom gearbox bolt has snapped off best way of removing?

No. I had a CV joint disintegrate & when you let up the clutch, there was no movement just a crunching noise from the guilty hub.
As for the bolt, without seeing it no idea. Remove G/box & use a stud remover or just wind it out...?

best off taking a pic of said bolt for a better response :)
cars 20 miles from me :(
its the lower rear gearbox bolt.
drill it and then easy out,
where is car? i could possibly come and give you a hand if needed
car is in torbay.
going to have to use a standard driveshaft to get it home and with only one gearbox mount bolt fingers crossed the other one doesnt snap

it should be alright if you take it steady
car is in torbay.
going to have to use a standard driveshaft to get it home and with only one gearbox mount bolt fingers crossed the other one doesnt snap
bugger, wrong way from me!
if you get stuck getting the bolt out give me a shout.
ok mate cheers :thumb:
cars coming off the road soon for new arches so i may get you round to turret the rear arches :) how you feel about tubing?
no problem i've done quite a few now,
what shocks are you going to be running?
ive actually got some turrets already made up - they are fine for normal gaz's but too small for golds, i didnt realise golds were bigger when i made them!
ive got normal gaz but im going to have it turreted i think as it catches ever so slightly
let me know when you want it done
have you already reinforced your beam mounts?

i havent done my rear beam mounts yet but i have a chris astley plating kit and strut tops to go on.
are you doing them yourself? or do you want me to have a look at that for you too?
well so far my mate who is a panal beater is going to do my rear arches and sills and rear panal. was going to get him to fit the strengthing plates but i might have ago myself lol
its not that hard tbh, just take plenty of time prepping it all before you weld it!
if youre stripping it all out i'll hire you my rollover jig!
or i can fit them for you ;)
roll over jig sounds good and yea weld them on mate will be neater than me lol
Pm me a price for all this work :) with some seam welding included
easiest thing would be for you to pop up to taunton to have a look at mine - as its currently on the jig and you can see exactly what you want done,
price will be dependant on whether you want to help prep it etc?
ok mate well let me fix mine this weekend and ill see if i can get up to you next weekend or something and have a chat about what to do
yeah no probs, i work shifts and am not sure what im working next week,
you can always pop up one evening if you want - theres plenty of lights in my workshop!
ok mate pm me your number or give me a text. got a new phone and number wasnt on sim lol
