I still have a red and blue wire coming from my 9 pin plug that isn't connected to anything ice converted my car from a 1.0 to a c14se

anyone know what's it's for it's not the fuel pump wire

If its pin B2 then it's for the gearbox transducer (VSS)

I'm using the gearbox that came with the engine and I don't think it has a vss sensor on it, Corsa Sri's didn't come with an immobilser did they? My old one didn't

It was used for security later but even Nova's came with a VSS. You may find it stalls at junctions and will use more petrol overall - the ecu uses the VSS to work out if the car is on overrun or coasting in which case it reduces the fuel injected or switches it off all together (depending on how advanced the ECU is).

So could this be the cause of my car cutting out on idle and struggling to rev? I just sold a vss as I didn't think I needed it lol

AW06 has a vss for sale ;)

Cutting out yes, struggling to rev sounds like crank sensor, map sensor, CTS or lambda.

But you should sort the VSS anyway as the ECU is designed to run with one. If you leave a load of open ends you're asking for trouble later when something goes wrong, how do you know whether it's a new fault or the bit you left out etc?

its not for the VSS mine had that wire and i havent connected it anywhere runs fine

the blue/red wire that hes on about goes into the car loom in the corsa. didnt search back on the corsa i was braking next time i will :thumb:

the VSS runs into the corsa car loom, all corsa injection models have them afaik, or the in gearbox type.

yes but what does it do in the corsa car loom??

my c16xe has that same wire on the 9 pin plug yet its not got a vss :)

The gearbox from the Corsa definitely dosnt have a vss on it as I'm using it and there isn't one there, anyone have a haynes manual handy

I noted all of the wiring from my C14SE when I removed the loom from the Nova. Blue/Red or Red/Blue whichever it is is injectors, fuel pump relay and VSS. Get a haynes and enjoy tracing the wiring diagrams lol

Correct, it goes into the immobiliser wiring loom in the pass side kick panel on a Corsa, from there it goes back to the sender unit in the tank ;)

If you cut said wire with the engine running (in a Corsa) the engine stalls out.

O it didn't actually need to be connected then since I have no immobilser

Not necessarily :tard: It wasn't just used for the immobiliser, it was used for the purposes I've already stated and the security was piggy backed on later.
