Its the donkey so doesnt have luxuries like a handbook/user manual. Ive had a look on the parkers guide and it says around 600kgs!!! that cant be right can it??? thats like the weight of a stripped out smallblock nova???

Iirc spudly is a vectra man, ask him, oh and it's not just the ferry you need to worry about, the police take a very dim view of overloaded cars, like the ones that do booze runs and are nailed to there ass,

If the parts weigh 200kg that will be no problem and well under the weight the car will be classified to carry.

The weight of 3 or 4 passengers could easily exceed that much.

Ahh thats sound since you put it like that, basically its the front and rear axle that make me nervous as the old skool 60s/70s RWD axle and the front engine bareing cross-member axle IE manta style are huge cast iron efforts and weight a ton!

fold the passenger seats down & stick the items as close to the middle as they will go... if you hang them out the back, by the hatch, the ar$e end will drag on the floor.... also check the tyre pressures for heavy loading do they have air springs or similar on the back? you could get some inflateable rear spring assistors if you are really worried, caravan shops sell them

200KG is about the same as 1.3 fat people. Weight-wise that'll be fine.

and i wouldn't worry about the ferry not letting you on. I went to Ireland in a 7.5t removal truck. Got on the scales and it was 10t. Oops. Ferry company just wanted more money off my company.

Edit, quick google search says vectra is about 1600kg empty with a 2200kg gross (not sure what age or model but wont be that far out) so yeah about 600kg thats about 5 hobbits plus enough cider and pastys to keep them going for a weekend :thumb:
