Try lower mileages, maybe adding a parent as a second driver, security, Pass Plus, higher excess...

Unfortunately it seems insurance is only for rich people now, as if you/re 17 or 18 you will need to pay ~£2k to insure even the most basic of cars.

So unless you have £2k in your pocket, I'd go out and buy a pushbike!

Try direct line, they were cheap for me. Also try bell

Direct Line are good, you should be looking at under £1500 on your own policy
