Well I use my iPhone (had all three generations) on png all the time and was thinking about getting the new iPhone when it came out, but reading this thread off o2 I might now have to reconsider :( not good and seems it will be an expensive phone.

500mb = the fair usage policy on unlimited data, same as 3000 texts = unlimited texts :p

Thing is I watch a lot of you tube gubbins on mine so it will sap loads of download limit and I also use my phone for downloading my works emails which can easily be 400mb a month anyway :p

If it ain't got a flash player I don't see why I'd change from my 3g, same reason I didn't get the 3gs. I'm now on simplicity 30 day contract for £20 pm.

Well here's a few price options to mull over for people thinking of the simpicity option:

iPhones needs a flash app soooo badly and it does work as I know a phone guys who've jailbroke there's and it works, I prefer legit stuff though

I quite fancied one of these to replace my 3GS... until I saw the price tag! Holy crap it's a lot of money for a phone. Even worse with the proposed download limits.

All networks are going the same. Orange have adjusted their data tariffs as well, would expect Voda to follow suit.

The limit isn't too bad in reality for most users, a guy at work streams music all day from spotify and his average is 800Mb a month. The killer for heavy data users is your average won't count so if you use 1Gb one month and 10Mb the next you will pay for the excess 500Mb

Other people in the office are barely scratching the surface of 100Mb let alone 500 a month.

Cutting talk time is a bit of a liberty though.

Vodafone have stuck with 1gb of mobile data , and 1gb of bt openzone wifi included in there tariifs ,

I've still got 11 months left on my 3gs before I can upgrade , so I'll see what it's like at the time lol

I work for a Telco and we offer no limit on our DSL Business connections...but it got to the point where some users, 0.07% were using 140Gb per month - so we contacted the highusers that were having an impact on all users and told them to reduce or be cancelled. This is what O2 should do. If this does not work then they should look at a higher CAP or increase their backbone capacity.

To be fair though, Youtube uses more bandwidth now that the whole Internet did in 2000:eek:

I know a fair few people with iPones that have only used 8-10gb of data in 18 months... and they 'hammer' it (not for youtube though).

I think I only used about 100meg of my BB data plan ('unlimited' to 500MB)

Just spoke to O2, if you upgrade you will have unlimited data until the new tarrifs come into effect in October. Lady wasn't sure but she thinks the limit is 100mb.
