Hi,

After seeing a project on here with rwd nova but with the engine in the back, just wondered if anyone has done engine in front with a live axle?

I can't remeber one at all nor heard of it being done? I guess it properly has?

got 2 shells in the yard and was just having thoughts..... Was wondering best way og doing it?

am thinking Vauxhall redtop lump, you can get conversion plates a then a omega or something simlar gearbox?

I guess you would need a custom made prop for the length of the car? also thinking what axel pref vaxuhall would fit? I can't think of anything the same width which is rwd, the only thin that is simlar is a english axel out a old skool fold?

there are quite a few front engine/rwd ones about.. mostly using mk2 escort running gear, with redtops & ford boxes.
the Simps is doing one with a porsche 944/924 rear transaxle & a redtop.
there was one a lad was doing with a saloon & a turbo xe (LET?) for drifting.
there is another one in the offing, but it is hush hush... as a track day

have a good look thru the projects, they are there

Wide arch is prob your best bet, and then working out offsets/wheel width.

Check out ste porters 4x4 build, near enough what you want to know.

Have a read through bmw156's chevette thread too

ok, the best donor at the moment is the early mazda mx5.
