I also hate all this commotion about foolsball, I don't mind playing it but I cant watch it or talk about it like some people do, I couldn't even name a player on the England team tbh lol

One thing that annoys me is my mates saying "How can you not support your country?!?!" I don't see how watching a game of football is supporting my country and I reply with "When a driver wins the F1 they play his national anthem and hoist his flag but no one makes a fuss of that do they?"

because football is not won in the dressing room at half time like f1 in the pit lane [yawn]
And the national sides arent about who has the most cash (f1 again)

Granted football may be a bit more strategy based than racing around a track at up to and over 200 MPH (sounds like loads more fun to me) another thing that annoys me which tbh you cant argue about, is the *******s who feel the need to dive to gain a penalty/free kick, that seems to be the most strategic thinking of the whole game tbh but just goes to show how low they will stoop to win.

Football is a boring and over rated sport in my opinion but then again I would say that being a rugby player, but hey, at least I dive for the right reasons lol

i love football so ofcourse i love the world cup, euros etc... for example tho i have no interest in rugby or cricket, when theres big events on for rugby or cricket i just ignore them and if its on tv i just change the channel....simple lol

In all fairness its not quite that easy tbh, when everyone around you is constantly (judging by my workplace) talking about it and have the customer tv on the footy all day at work (both jobs included) its very hard to avoid it really :p

i love rugby league just as much as football tbh,but the world cup is a special time for people,it gets them together in pub willing their country on.

and the rest of the country just doesn't get rugby league, the christian version of rugby.........us union fans prefer to see people actually hurting each other....

Andy

League is a much quicker, tougher game.Union is the premier league of rugby-just run by cash
League loses players all the time to union due to better wages

but most of the league teams are made of aussies over here for the 'off season'

Its funny that, my granddad takes the piss out of me for playing league but its much tougher than union and you can get away with more bone crunching tackles in league.

Union is the snobby mans version, league is for the common man, which reminds me of two story's I was told by two of my coach's, they're both ex navy and both got fined large amounts for playing rugby league lol

and kiwi's.But to be fair alot of clubs have young local lads which is more than can be said for premier league football

how is it tougher at the top level?? i know it is a far more running style version of the game, but the top level union teams are full of some real athletes these days, i know local club union is still full of fat brawlers who do it for the boozing

Watch the super league Mowgli, there is often bigger hits in league than in union which is just all pile on the guy with the ball, then scrum, then pile on,then scrum some more. Then blast it out the stadium

I'm not a huge fan of football and don't support any team. But the world cup only happens once every four years so why not get involved even if it just an excuse to have a laugh and get pissed with your mates?

P.S. Poor France, ROFL

I don't care about the commentators tbf, they usually get drowned out by drunken drivle or me trying to be a pundit and failing miserably as I actually don't have a clue. Then all my mates saying "thats Defoe not Heskey you ****" etc.
