Are LET standard pistons dear to replace?
Obviously they'll need the rins too but I'm talking about the price of just the piston.

i don't think you can even buy pistons without the rings these days....

You can, just need to know the right places.
if your funking about replacing a piston, why not go for a overbore and 4 new pistons

Well I'm just evaluating all avenues at the moment.

if a piston is shot, the rings will also be shot....

Can get a full set of rings for around £70 IIRC. Just wanted to see what sort of prices standard pistons were worth.
They seem a fair bit more expensive than the XE pistons. Give Autovaux a ring and see what they can get a new one for? Four new Mahle ones on eBay for about £400.
I unusually agree with AW06, might as well just go for four new pistons and a rebore?

I know, but the pistons i buy at work dont come with rings, as some motorsport peoples want to use there own rings.
PS: Tek, you actually got a LET engine yet then?

Na mate not yet, have my eye on a couple though. Got so much on my plate at the moment that I've not had much 'quality time' with the Nova lol
Buy one, no need to ask more and more questions then :p
If your going to rebuild it anyway, overbore and new pistons is silly not to do imo, you know it will last longer then. Plus its more for the spec sheet ;)

I know mate, need to buy one but stuff I gotta sort out first. Only a matter of time anyway, wanna get a good'un if buying whole or one worth buying in bits to rebuild.
