View Full Version : Ideas Please
Right, I am best man for my best mate, and i need to sort him a car to get him to the church and the ushers to the reception afterwards.
Budget of about £300 and must seat at least 3 people and be something a bit mental haha
Any suggestions, and be serious!

Reliant regal.
I was being serious, its not like you're going to get him anything special for £300, maybe a Lotus Carlton, if you can find one.

Either some kind of American Muscle or something rare.
Lotus Carlton for me!! (it'll never happen)
I know its not a massive budget, but hey, hes not minted.
traction engine?
one of those novelty cars.... the mobile skip or the settee etc...
hot rod or custom.....
see if you can rent a prison van from a tv cars company...
Lotus Carlton for me!! (it'll never happen)

Best thing to do is look around for private owners of special motors.
Hayleys dad managed to get an absolutely immaculate Austin heavy 12/4 (in Gumdrop blue :) ) for beer money just by going over and asking the guy nicely.
My mate Ed's dad also has a vintage car and often gets asked to do weddings and doesn't charge bog all for it.
Have a mooch on an Aston or 'rarri forum and put the question forward, sometimes just the chance to show off is all the incentive people need, let alone the chance of £300 for driving your pride and joy around :)
I wouldnt give your money to a private company who would probably only give you an hour for 300 notes if I were you.
Car from an iconic or funny film..
A team van
Ghostbusters car
Delorean
General Lee etc...

Burgos estate lol
seriously, there must be someone local to you with a high end luxury car that would help you out, a couple in my village got a friend to drive them in his range rover,
If I get married I'm going to ask John Cleland to drive :thumb: lol
Lynz, he was staring at them when you did the TV mag thing.... if he drove you when you were in your wedding dress, he'd be trying to cop a feel whilst driving

You could easily hire a 7.5 tonner for way less than that - it'd certainly be different.

one morning, lynz, you'll look at yourself in the mirror and suddenly it becomes a fantastic idea...... either that or dougie gets you knocked up & you'll have to rush it so the photos don't show the bump
it'd also be worth it just to get john cleland to drive the car.....isn't there some legend about him running the babysitter home & parking the car on its roof outside her parents house???

yeah one of the first 4x4 cavs lol
Yeah, he was telling us that story. I did wonder whether he got distracted by her bouncy bits.
lynz, legends are always flawed in some way.....and if mr cleland allegedly likes to look at your knockers its one of the better flaws
