Eye lads,

Anyone ever sprayed up some MK2 bumpers? Is the idea of the initial sanding just to give it a good key, or to get rid of the bobbles? Its just the latter seems to take absolutely ages! Is there an easy way to do it? I'm using an orbital sander but its still taking ages and quite hard as the bumper isn't flat...

Thanks, Joe

theres no way m8 - need to flat the bumps, filler primer it, smoth back, prime it with plastic priomer then spray

Check nack this last month - I posted a HUGE ost ref spraying bumpers

i got amk2 and i sprayed the front bumper and i only keyed it in with a scotch pad thing. The primer that was used was so thick that it filled in all the bobbles so i got a flat bumper without all of the work. I'll find out what the primer used was and let you know.

primwer filler - orangey stuff from hanfords

prob is that the slightest twist or bump in a car park and it splits and cracks

Its not designed for flexible parts.

Check back about 3 pages and you'll see a similar post/reply from me - its takes time = flat back the bumper and build up gradually.

or buy a smooth bumper - bout ?150 from vauxhall I think
