Pretty much twice in the last 3 weeks(around 120 miles), my car has died when i've pulled up to a junction but starts straight away.

My first thought was the battery but my digi dash shows it's charging fine.

Then i came to it this morning, after i've driven it 300+ miles to and from PVS this weekend, and it had nothing. The dash lights had no life on ignition and didn't make a sound when i cranked it over.

Jump started it, drove it a few miles and it was fine again.

Any ideas for this problem?

This could be the idle air control valve. Try cleaning it.

This could be a bad battery, bad alternator, bad earth?

Once they drop to 10v or less they'll die. Maybe the fault with one of the above is intermittent so it's fine one day and not charging the next.

I've experienced this in my dads Cav.. The elctrical system wasn't charging properly, battery would discharge to 10v and it would die and stay there. Would start wth a jump start but wouldn't go very far without dying again.

Went to it this morning and same again, completely dead! Gonna get under it this week and check alternator wiring!
