View Full Version : it never rains....
... but it pours. after last nights shenanigans with the corsa, today we went to spazda in the celica. all went well till we left and the battery light came on. oh poo thinks i, is it alt or battery or belt? that was soon answered by 4k rpm and no lights. got home and tested the alt and its dead till 3k and then it charges. now i have 3 options. please vote as you think....
lol see my thread of fail if you think thats bad

sounds like the PV ghost is out breaking cars. Sorry to hear that mate. Andy, just read your thread too. I'd be well devastated.
If you can get one in the morning and fit it, you would be silly not to IMO.
I still need to put my car back together before i hit PV
At least again like me,you were fairly local

oh and just had a text, my replacement 1.8 8v engine has been sold to someone else. so the corsa will sit for 4 weeks or so and i think i may up the cylinder count by 2.....

this will sound really daft but the same sort of thing happend on my old capri 3.0i the alt wouldnt charge and the light stayed on untill it had been reved over 2500 rpm then all was well and it would be fine running and idleing until i came to start it agian tried everything new alt new battery checked all wiring and after checking just about everything and gave up on trying to sort it then while putting new bulbs in the dash i replaced a blown one fired it up and problem was gone tested it with the blown bulb and the problem arose again couldnt understand how a small 5w bulb could cause the alt not to charge lol
cos on **** fords the dash bulb is part of the circuit that turns the alt on and off. common issue, my dad drove a sierra like it for 2 years. :)
