I'm leaning to the painted one at the mo...
Painted Imo apparently it rained alot yesturday so i think its going to be a muddy one
I'm not driving on anything other than tarmac.
shiney it is then lol although i like them painted more,
The shiney wheels are your summer/ show wheels so stick them on :)
They are my summer wheels.. Just kinda going off them..lol

Definately the polished ones, Thats how this car should be saw and remembered.
I'm not driving on anything other than tarmac.
lol
You may not have a choice - plus whats a bit of mud? It will slide off the shiney ones with no bother!:)
(Painted for me btw)
Shiny. I don't have to worry about bringing a mirror then, I can come use your wheels when I put my makeup on Sunday morning lol

Shiney ones IMO.
Got to be brutally honest Benn, i think your car needs some new wheels. Dont get me wrong the turbo ones look good, but some new ones wouldnt detract from the look of your car!!!
Polished rims suit the car far more due to it being the king of bling

I think i agree, There are some really nice 5stud vauxhall wheels around.

If it were me Benn, I'd use the polished wheels. It's a show so you need to show it off.
Maybe carry the painted ones in the boot just in case it pixxes down with rain lol
Will, Migs stand is on the tarmac, so should be ok.
Blue, Minstrals are 17" and that's a no no.
I really do want some different rims, but its finding some i like. I've been looking and might have to go back to 4stud, but if needs a must and all that.
Prob is i really cant make my mind up on what to use...

Same here mate, know how you feel.
I've been looking at a heck of a lot of rims since the car had been resprayed. Really dunno what to use or to go for.
I wanna stick to 4 stud but dunno whether to go Vaux OEM style, something more modern yet suitable for the Nova. I've been thinking about staggered wheels, something thats shallow at the front with slightly deeper dish at the back (which is funking hard to find in a 15-16 inch and correct/tolerable offset).
Just don't wanna go for something that's been played out so much.
Like I said though, the polished wheels are not seen as much and would make your already shiny car stand out further for the purpose of the show.
I want a Euro looking wheel, want a nice dish.
Gggrrr i do like the painted ones a bit more.. But the polished ones do stand out a bit more.. But that's good and bad.

I was actually thinking of a nice BBS style wheels normal on front slightly deep at back 15 or 16 inch polished or chrome. Think it'd look sex on the gold and black, but I have so many different ideas I wanna try I dunno what to go for.
Painted makes it look OEM and slick. Polished makes it stand out and catch attention (useful for shows ;) )
Ok, I mean no disrespect whatsoever. Benn, your car is the one I love to hate and hate to love as its done to such a fantastic standard but go painted. IMO, the Polished ones look a bit Gash, very much "Chrome Rimz y0"
Why love to hate and hate to love Dod?
Becasue its so perfect, it ticks all the boxes and that just annoys me. lol
Its not perfect. But thank you.

Neither, change the wheels they look **** imo
painted, the polished ones dont look right imo
Rob, 17" are way to big...
Dj you not like them at all then..lol
Gonna keep the painted ones on, as they are already on the car it saves to much work.

No, not keen tbh. Its a shame because the rest of the car is georgous. But then its your car so each to there own. I've never been a fan of turbo wheels, not even on a cav tbh.
But polished for me :)
Cheers Jeff.
Dj, nothing wrong with that, as i've said i want different wheels but it's finding some i like and that fit right.
What about black Vectra ST wheels?
5stud ones again are 17".
What something more Euro looking..
No, the 6 spokers are 5 stud and only 16".
As for Euro, a nice set of Comp THs in 16" would be sweet as **** but getting them would be an absolute mission.
Are they? Ok..
Finding any nice wheels in the right size for a bit of tuck is hard.
the 6 spoke ones are the ones that look like careso's but 5 stud and 16s
came off some veccy's
(couldnt tell you which one aint clued up on veccys soz )
I think his name is Pete (blue XE diplomat Cav that was on the rollers with you) His wheels are the 16" ST ones
And Chip had some one his Nova too

Good lad! I much prefer the painted ones. (vote closed grrrr)
I'm shocked you have to ask this one dude? The way I see it is this....... How many cars running cav t wheels will you see at pvs?..... Many! But how many will you see running shiney shiney ones?.... If you see another one apart from yours I'll be surprised and thats what makes it different to the others! Plus with your shiney shiney bay it will match perfectly. silver ones look well but the polished ones are a cut above and Id like to see them on tommorow. ;)

^ My reasoning aswell. It's a show. Whether it's chavvy or not the polished rims do show off the car more and I've only ever seen one set of polished turbo rims and that's yours Benn.

16 inch, 6.5J is 294 pounds, each.

whats chavvy about polished wheels??
Most chavs will have black wheels, probably fake splits or cheap dished affairs, made of chocolate & shod with economy rubber.
I'm with Nick, they would have been rare if you ran the polished ones & they do look as blingy as the rest of the car. :p
Will use them for Billing.(unless i find new ones)
Cheers for the help guys.

Didn't say it was a chavvy thing. I included that in the sentance as someone thought they looked chavvy.
Those 2nd image sheels the 6 spoke ones look nice. The gold wouldn't really look good even though my Nova is gold. Polished would look nice in them.

It wasnt aimed at you, more pointing out that high maintainance polished wheels arent chavvy to be fair.

My bad. Polished wheels don't look chavvy if done right and put on a car that matches the wheels.

Would I be right in saying tho that if you want a dish, because of vaux offset, you will have to have the wheels sticking wide of the arches?
Nova_Tek
14-06-10, 10:08 PM
Dunno mate but finidng some wheels which have a slight dish at the rear and fit the Nova properly will either require huge amounts of luck, loads money or most likely both.
I do also lke the staggered wheel look but again not easy to find.

14-06-10, 10:16 PM
The bbs lm replicas on my vectra are 5 stud & et47 but they're also 8.5" wide to get the dish.

8.5j will probably rub like a biatch. I will probably end up giving up when I start looking for a set.

I prefer star silver or what ever its called (the really bright shiney one)
But in this case as the engine bay is shiney, i'd keep the shiney ones for the show and paint them after. It only makes sense.
