I woke up yesterday wanting to buy something Lol. Searched everywhere for cars or parts for sale and found this little car which i took a liking to. It was cheap enough in the ad so i emailed the guy and got the car much cheaper. So i went down this morning to collect.

I know it's French and isnt really my sort of car anymore but for a diaily runaround i cant go wrong really. Cheapish on petrol but more than enough power for when i need it and not too low so i canm actually drive anywhere which is a change for me. I drove it back and apart from a leaky front shock that i knew about already (got a new one with it), it drove absolutly spot on. The thing is immacualte. Not a dent or scratch anywhere, i have never seen a french car as clean Lol. Just had new brakes done so stops perfect and the engine revs sweet as a nut and idles properly. Im so impressed lol

Mot and tax run out in 6 months so may put a new test on it then and put it up for sale but in the meantime im just going to enjoy it for the summer. Just taken these quick pics, will give it a proper clean tomorrow.

There No Competition For A Nova Xe!

You reckon?! :wtf:

My mates have had these and the Saxo's in the past and with the right bits and bobs they certainly can shift (and handle!)

Nice purchase Lee. :thumb:

Really?

Almost as fast, and better handling.

Riggys 165bhp nova only just got away from us to about 130.

Bear in mind its only 700ishKG.

So no, they really are competition for a nova:thumb:

The only slight issue, is wheel bearings, shafts, gearboxes, clutches, and anything else mchanical lol

Hell of a capable car though:thumb:

Thanks for the comments. I am aware of the speeds of these cars. I have always said they wouldnt keep up with nova xes but wouldnt be much in it with a corsa xe imo.

I am also aware that being french the mechanicals will fail but everything will be cheap enough to replace so its not a problem really.

For me i just see it as a really nice looking hatch, small car to drive to work or town in, much cheaper on petrol and when i want it to be will be awesome to thrash round some quiet twisty roads. Oh and when i've had enough i will put it up for sale. Definetly a decent car for me during the summer i reckon :)

This is because there is a bias valve fitted to the rear brakes.

Its ment to create more brakes at the back when your carrying a load but when people lower them it makes the back think there is more weight when there isnt.

Also the white ones are Rare and go for Quite alot tbh. my mate has just bought on nice little motor. Faster than a c16xe nova aswell

my mate has a 106 gti, I like them and they do shift well... to be honest it doesnt keep up with my xe nova, its never far behind tho:thumb: shifts extremely well for a 1.6

Please don't make this into a nova vs gti thread Lol i honestly couldn't care which you think is faster or better, i have them both to compare lol

I know the white ones are rarer and more sought after, that was the main reason i went for it. If it was any other colour i wouldn't of touched it. I am certain that when i put it up for sale i will get enough interest.

id buy one in an instant..i thought it was the yellow ones that were sought after? dont see many white ones either to be fair, its a nice looking car tho,how much money do you have btw??!! wake up one morning and decide to buy a car lol

I always see yellow ones pop up although they will probably be the most likeable to most people. I just remember that when i used to be into these cars years ago everybody wanted a white one but could never be arsed waiting for one to come up lol

I was extremely bored yesterday and just wanted to do something Lol, i am now skint though lol

lol how much did you pay if you not mind me asking?

The yellow ones are sort after but there are more yellow ones about than white.

this is about the 8th white gti ive seen thats origanal. went and looked at a so called white one a couple of months ago and the engine bay was red and the boot was blue lol

I have seen a lot of people spray their cars white. An old mate of mine actually had a bright green one which used to be white :|

Don't want to tell you how much i paid but it was up for £1500 and i got it a fair bit less. Im happy with the price, when i decide to sell it il be confident getting much more than that, especially seen as the bodywork is that perfect. The car is so much cleaner than i was expecting, there isnt a mark on it lol
