1.6 GTE into 1.o SPIN

been offered a 1.6 GTE engine - 55000 miles, full wiring loom etc.

what all do i need to change over to fit the 1.6, petrol tank, pump, shafts ( would they work in the mean time)

is a 1.6 in a diff tax bracket?

Shafts on your are fine mate.

You will need.

A 1.2spi tank, with a 1600mpi pump OR a GTE/GSI tank, and external pump.

Then the engine, loom, and ecu, join 3 wires, are your away:thumb:

Is the 1.0 and 1.6 o/s engine mount the same? I thought you needed the 1.6 mounts?

The mount that bolts to the engine is differant to the 1200, 1300, 1400, and 1600.

But the chassis leg mount is the same (The welded part from vauxhall)

Yeah that's the bit I mean, the bit that bolts onto the block and the rubber mount, iirc every nova has the same chassis leg mount bar the derv :)

metal engine block bit is different. also do not use th switched live fromn the coil. its resisted so wont work. need to run a return line aswell. microbore copper pipe is your friend.

Just get the + off the purple on the wiper motor.

i'm sure that would work.. but if the wipers fail, then engine is dead..... replace the resistive wire at the switch & it will always power up the efi as long as the ign switch works, anyway
