C16xe Oil cap

Right has anyone else had the problem of the 16xe oil caps coming off randomly?

any ideas what to do buy another or is there anything else i could use?

Sounds like the thread parts knackered, I'd just get another one.

Yes mine did last summer on the turbo.. Oil everywhere & a 2 mile walk back to where I thought I 'heard something' to retrieve it.

Culprit was a knackered thread type bit on the cap (if you can call it that). If I carry out the plans I have for a rocker cover, I'll be having the old skool oil filler TIG'd on instead of that Ecotec contraption.

Anyone know if the big block 20XEV ecotec caps fit the smallblock XE's??

I do indeed think they do, remember nicking a oilcap from a vectra at the scrapard to fill the standard hole when i nicked my replacement for my tigra.

But yeah, i had a issue of them coming off on the nova when i didnt have the plastic cover, Never had an issue since.
