View Full Version : Ecu problems
I decided to lift my carpet in my car and since then my car won't start my ecu wad resting in the footwell and I think I've knocked it when moving the carpet
there is power getting to it on the perm live and ignition live but I'm getting eml light at all, all the fuses are fine too
any way to check the ecu it's a c14se conversion from a 1.0

do a search on the 'paperclip' test, the ecu reports any fault it may have from what i remember
try here http://www.topbuzz.co.uk/info/fault_codes/fault_codes.htm

Not bodged then? It was only a matter of time before it's going to cut out whilst driving FFS.
check every wire IMO.

The car hasn't been driven the ecu is only there until I make a bracket to hold it
I've tried the paperclip test but the eml won't come on on the dash

Maybe a wire has broken or come out of position etc. Can't imagine a little knock to kill an ecu. Unless it was dropped on the floor quite hard.
