Electronic Door Opening??? MOT!!!!!!

Does anyone know whether you must have a mechanical door open release from the inside of the car to pass an MOT???

I've fitted solenoids to the doors and have buttons on the dash to open the door.... is this MOT legal.... i think it is as many alarms even lock your doors so why can't you electronically open them when you are in the car.

you could scrape it but i think you hace to have the handles as a back up in case of acident

MOT states that as long as both FRONT doors can be opened from outside and inside, then you will pass.

ye cheers m8 my bro told me to check out MOT sites and i found the same thing so i will be fine coz i can press the button on the dash to get out when ignition is on and button on outside at all times just when central locking is working then you still can't get in.....

when u say a button outsaide... do u mean on your key fob? or the car??

as if its a fob this isnt valid

if you have a button on the car u may scrape it
