Anyone know if you can take a laptop in your hand luggage when going abroad??

Yep, I've taken one a few times, dad always takes his laptop everywhere he goes, and my mum took one last time she went abroad. Nothing said, was all fine.
I've taken some on work trips in hand luggage too.

I've taken a Laptop, ecu's, reflashing tools, surface mount components on reels and masses of cables in hand luggage once..... not a single comment

I've taken the battery too mate.
I've also taken a whole box of 12 Krispy Kreme doughnuts too. Yum! lol
Aye, you'll just be asked to remove it from your bag when you go through security.

Yeah If you are going to America they are really strict about taking your laptop out of your hand luggage ready for inspection. New york baggage check is one of the scariest things ive ever experience. Talk about on a power trip!!!

ive taken mine before no problems
the hardest thing i found in US customs was keeping my mouth shut when the man from the dept of agriculture asked 'any fruit or vegetables sir???' i just had to walk on by shaking my head, with this little demon inside my yelling 'oooh yes, have you any bananas????'

Every airport security gate I've been through has been like that.
I do recall the security guy in St Kitts made me take my 450d out the bag and turn it on, he looked confused at all the display on the back. Dunno if he was expecting to see all my holiday cough I mean work snaps or what lol

If you have a screen saver which is a bit tasty lets say a pic of a certain page 3 model. sometimes from experenice they ask you to switch it on know on a blokes point of view it can be alright but when the security/customs officer is a, man hating dyke! it can be a..........................
