machined hubs for big cvs

hello there i hav got a set of hubs that i got machined down when i put them in and tighten then up the cv just locks up as it hitting of the hub assembly anyone else hav this problem

I think you have machined far to far, are you trying to put 5 stud hubs, in standard nova bearings?

Alot of people seem to take the whole shank down, you need to ensure theres a spacer left behind the hub, to stop it touching the carrier.

its 4 stud i never got the man to machine the radius bit at the bottom where it would sit against the bearing but it is shiny so i think it could only be out by 1 mm

im think of making up a waher 1mm thick or just buy the proper ones

you dont just machine the flange to fit inside the bearing, you also machine the outer edge of the flange to it sit in side the knuckle, you hub is binding up against the back of the knuckle. has been done a few time now !!!

find a standard small block one and copy/measure simples !!!

is it best to machine the flange to be the same size as the nova flange and use a standard nova bearing, or is it better to machine the hub and use a big block bearing?

a big block bearing wont fit, its to wide :)

They are silly cheap on LMF now, best just to buy new, especially since it's a LET.

I've read somewhere about vw bearings? Is this an option? I'm just a bit worried that machined big block flanges won't have enough meat on them!
