big head

am after more power from me mk2 sri and asked earlier
sum 1 surgested fittin a head from a 1.2 does ne 1 know if itll work and or fit does it have 2 be a 1.2 8 valve mk 2 nova and is it worth me gettin the 1.2 head skimmed and how much 2 get skimmed off as i know sum 1 who can do it im just not very clued up on engines electrics is more my thing
plz can ne 1 help itll be much appriciated

when the head is skimmed, the engineer will take off enough to make the head flat, and no more.

dont wanna mess aorund with compression ratios too much

obviously you can specify how mush you want off or whatever but dont bother.

as for the head, any 1.2 carb 8v i *THINK*

stick to nova if you can as im sure that will fit, for instance some astras have 1.2 8v engines with sh!tty singlepoint injection with cr@p ports etc.

oh yeah you want a 1.2 head of a carb nova not injection

well other people have told me different so which 1 do i go 4 sum say stick 1.2 sum say like ur self dontso am just tryin 2 find which is best

how much we talkin 4 bigger valves and where abouts wud i get em from

Just put a 1.6i gte engine in it,a gte engine will be cheaper than putting bigger valves in,you can pick a good un up with gearbox,ecu loom and shafts etc for just over ?100ish,and they give 100bhp as standard.
Insurance isnt that much more,its not like its a 2ltr 16v!!
