View Full Version : Cleaned rusty. Pics inside.
For the first time ever I Autosol'd the Volvo's chrome/polished bits and was surprised how well it came up. I didn't polish it but I think it was lucky enough to get dried by a means other than a blast down the bypass. lol
I'm also running a new grille and splitter, plus the louvre so I guess it's changed a fair bit.
I was pretty happy with it so had a short run out with my mate and we took some pics with his DSLR and new lens. They're only full auto and point and click as we intended to go elswhere for further pictorial mincing but I got sidetracked.
Show some boxy RWD love lol

and me wireless lol.
Comments and criticism welcome.
I'm not entirely finished with the grille, but I wanted to 'de-Volvo 300' it a bit. lol
Will look right when I add an oil cooler IMO. Also gonna start looking for an Ashley or similar exhaust to chop about for her. :thumb:

Mk1/Mk2 Golf front splitter ?
Looks very cool and 'retrotastic' :)
I love the look of that :thumb: i want one lol
Aye Vaughan, mk1 GTi large duckbill. Cheers mate. :)
Thanks Cle. I'm pretty happy with the front end now. It seems 'deeper' lol. I want to look into single round headlights. Dunno how that would look though. lol

Splitter suits the car mate!!!
loving the wireless, ideal for those times when your feeling a bit of "new monkey" or the like lol
Yeah Vaughan, goes well with the skinny bumpers with it being an earlier model IMO. Kinda keeps my old skool JDM want down a bit too. lol
Andy, av got me monkey tapes in ere innit

:thumb: Ta mate. You're the reason I have my louvre. :d
Someone rep this man! (even if you don't like the louvre - cos I do) lol
Cheers John. Aye the rear window deals are like rocking horse sh!t. I think that's one of 3 known of in the UK now. lol
I always find what I'm looking for :d
The plaster says 'Do not want' I had it made by a signmaker. It covers a paint split in the quarter big scrape and 'kinda' covers two dents left by some tw@t who pushed the bumper corner in etc when I left it parked somwhere. :(
I know they're scene, but I have that for a reason. lol

Looks nice and old skool, i think the grille would be better if it had straight slats in it like a nova. and cut a section out for yer cooler.
Haha cos of that picture i fired you up from the Retro Rides thread, i feels all special now cheers dude:thumb:
I have considered straight slats Lewi but tbh I like the more hardcore/deep look of no slats.
Like I say it's kinda how a lot of the old skool Jap stuff runs, but I made some fixings so I can still have the grille frame to tidy things up.
Aye Spud, you linked me the abandoned thread, I PM'd the pic taker who told me no dice on the one in question and then two days later sent me a PM with an eBay link which I saw 14 mins before the end of the auction. :)
It's all you baby. lol :thumb :hugz: etc.
I can feel the luvz dude lol
Very welcome and im glad you had some epic fortune on that one as i kinda know how rare they are

Nice i think it suits the louvre alot better than i thought it would :)
Cheers gents. :thumb:
Aye Joe, I wasn't impressed with it at first, but once it was blacked up it made all the difference. It sounds daft but that on it's own could help me sell the car if/when I want to. lol
My mates ovlov totally different to yours lol

Haha. Awesome mate. I still skid mine. I just look after it a bit. TBH if there was places to use that weren't miles away it would look more like your mates!
It still has it's share of war wounds off me but I have to say I have grown reasonably fond of it. lol
Is your mates a 16v conversion?

looks good mate:thumb:
love these cars. not because there rwd, just old skool cool. plus i do love a volvo lol
nah its was a 1.4 n he droped the 1.7 in it.
Its welded diff, coilovers on the front, 5link on the back, hydrolic handbrake, stripped out with bucket seats and fuel tank in the back!! lol
Goes well in the wet but just not enough power nor clutch when dry!
Also another mate has a 5door stripped again with the willaims 16v on bike carbs!`
That thing is soo bad its class!! What ever happened the Primera?
lol You windin me up? I have Tiesto and Fabric Live in there ATM.

Love it! Looks awesome in my opinion.
Ta Lee and wwmnw. She's getting there. :)
I need to get me a decent set of fans this weekend and take off the viscous / find an oil cooler sharpish.
As we've discussed many times, I would love a Volvo and it would have to be that one.
You may change your mind if you seen the 4/500bhp T5 motor with Corvette gearbox/axle WIP that's currently happening lol.
I am in the process of hunting down one of these bad lads (the badge)

Ideal for when I go turbo. lol

Both 3 doors, I think it's the same guy that owns them. Both stripped with buckets and a bike can on the back lol

Really like that mate, whats the difference with 360/340? Ive just picked up a 1.4 340, needs a real good clean and some more power but its cool for now.
