whats all this crap about volumetric weight?? I am trying to arrange a courier to collect some bucket seats for me. The actual weight will be around 30kg which should come under their highest standard tariff of £24.95

BUT the volumetric weight is calculated at about 153kg which is going to make the parcel very expensive to post if this is applicable rather than actual weight.

Anyone ever posted anything of this size before to give me any advice??

They use a system of where it cant be no more then 1.5 mtrs long, and no more then 3mtrs total girth (oh err) and not over 30kg, so if you can wrap them together and keep it under 1.5/3mtrs around you'll be OK, i had these issues when sending an exhaust system to Cormac in NI, right ballache, ended up having to cut the system to keep it under 1.5mtrs, also i used Parcel Force in the end as they were by far the cheapest, call them and ask about it mate.

max limit (without having to ring up for special service) is 120x80x80 which will be a squeeze but probably just possible but yeh i will try parcel force too

TRUST ME.. I tried all of them to get the full system to NI and there all a bunch of cocks for LARGE items.. There websites are not up to date with info, so you go to book the parcels in and get 90% through it, and then they go oh hang on it's too big..FFS

Trust me use PF i know they dont have an amazing past record, but thats in the past my parcel made it to Cormac 100% fine, ask him.

By DHL? Ask for the tracking number.

Quids on it being sat at the depot though - I've been in my front room once before and a DHL man came up, pushed a non-delivery card through the door, then fcuked off. Didn't even ring the doorbell, probably didn't even have the parcel with him.

Never had any issues with PF myself though.

Uses them all the time to send bulky items all over the place..

Never used them myself tho..

i have had some great results with interparcel.... you tell them the length, width & height + weight of the item & they quote you a price.

i will give them a try... most of the sites require you to fill in two full address boxes before giving you a ridiculous price once the volumetric weight is calculated. Two bucket seats in one large box - i was hoping i could get it sent for £30

You need to get the person sending it to sort it out mate, as i say i wrapped and packed a FULL system/manifold and sent it to NI for £35.50

 cheapest from DHL was £336!!!! The parcel is 120x75x75 and works out at twice Parcelforce's size limits. I need help with it asap as i have agreed to buy the seats yet most couriers won't give a final price until you have filled ALL the details in. Surely it doesnt have to cost so much to post them, any ideas??

lol you cant be getting that right... As i say PF limit is 30kg, 1.5mts long, by 3mts total girth around item.. should be under that size,

Call Peter Lloyyyyd (hes on ebay) as he sends bucket seats out all the time and I think it was only about £10-15 postage with TNT
