I've only ever had one brand of tyre on my nova for the 5 years that I had driven it and they are Hankook Ventus K102's. They've done me well and I've got no compliants.

That was with the 1.2 engine so there wasn't exactly serious power going through the wheels. I've been busy thinking that with the LET I may need to serisouly consider different tyres at one point when the current ones wear out.

I'm considering getting two sets of tyres, ones that have great grip in summer/dry conditions and ones that have great grip in winter/wet conditions.

Are road legal slicks useable everyday in hot/dry conditions? What tyres get your vote when it comes down to the above?

Like I said, I can't pick a tyre on experience so I'd liek to hear yours.

Toyo, Ask spud. Last a few thousand less than harder compound rubber but sticky as fook in the wet and dry and great road noise and just generally great! I highly advise!

parada's and proxes are good for both tbh
if you want a summer tyre go for r888's
and then a set of ku31 kuhmo's ( also good as the above) for winter/spring/autumn

Really considering the r888's as a dry tyre and it's got some real good reviews on tyretest.com.

Just need to find a really good wet weather tyre.

The road legal slicks wont last on rough uk roads for very long, its not like they have 8mm of tread in the first place. There sold as a track tyre..

You realize, i you buy two sets of tyres at the same time, by the time you use the 2nd set they could be ****ed?

I personally would go for Proxies T1R's, Mark_UK has some for sale too iirc, woulda bought them myself.

r888s are a very good tyre with stiff side walls so you can through yourself into corners..i find there heads above any other 'road tyre' in wet and dry conditions .

I have it on good authority that it will take some work to get triple 8's to not catch the arches front and rear on a Nova due to the larger than average side wall, I know Olly H ran them but I'm sure it wasnt easy

If you car is low or has the wrong offset wheels you will really struggle with R888's. Triesd some 15's on the front of my Nova on Cesaros and they wouldn't clear the front arch or the coilovers.

are the 888's available in 45? I didn't actually check if they were. I run 45's now and have the arch lip rolled pretty much all the way up with ET43 rims. but I'm looking for a set of Vaux rims if not something from 45-49 offset.

If you had to choose a tyre wih tgreat dry grip and just as good wet grip what tyre would you choose?

They only come in a 50 but in reality are much more bulky than other 50's.

I run Toyo T1R's on all my cars, think they are great for the price.

The price of toyo's are really good for wuality of tyre which is why I've sorta of considered buying two sets, dry and wet as buying one set of premium brand tyres will probably cost more than buying 2 sets of toyo's.

Shame the 888's are only 50.
