Is it running the original block? If so the Corsa uses the 'red' stuff from vauxhall as the old green/blue eats aluminium.

The red stuff is best, 5 year protection. Can't remember what the exact percentage of mixture is, IIRC 30% or something for normal condition, 50/50 for extreme cold protection or along those lines.

Brita filtered FTW lol

any antifreeze & change it every 2 years, run it at about 30% mix & it should be fine

With a new expansion tank so you can see it it'd match the engine :thumb:

50/50 mix, any af is good. Change it every 2 or 3 years if you can leave it that long.

I've never had stuff in for a year.. And i only use blue, as it matches the car.

That stuff is ok in your engine though. I was told by Vx only to use the red (vauxhall, no idea about after market colours or otherwise lol) stuff in the 16XE as it's safe for the ally head.

well, they've been fitting ally heads to vauxhalls since the late seventies, so don't think for a second that some red dye makes it superior

Only passing on what I was told, besides it's probably cheaper on trade club at Vx than other places.

lol i was gonna say the same. Vx now only sell the pink stuff, but everyone else sells the red/pink, blue and green. (i work in a motorfactor)

Lets and xe's both have ally heads too...

I've just had a look at some TIS info. The blue green stuff is only to be used for 2 years whereas the pink stuff is good for 4 years (though still needs to be checked). They do contain different chemicals though, the pink stuff has better corrosion inhibitors which I guess is where what I was told came from, but yes Vauxhall now use the newer stuff on all cars - you can't mix the two though, you need to drain and flush to swap between the two.

Its really ment so you can put it in and for get about it.

As service interval (sp?) get longer everything needs to last longer.

Funny i use blue to match the car.. Yet you cant see it anywhere...lol

Nowadays, where ever you go the blue coloured antifreeze is guaranteed for 2 years and the red stuff is 5 years. I've been using the red stuff for about 3 years now in all the cars in the household.

And yes the dishwasher is great for cleaning washer bottles and such just have a look how mine came out: http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=139398&page=6
