View Full Version : Fuel filling problem

Apologies as I'm not 100% where this should be.

I've recently put an xe in my mk1 sting shell, along with injection tank etc.

Problem lies at the petrol station, when I put the nozzle all the way in and start, it just starts clicking instantly.

If I put the nozzle right at the off the filler pipe, fuel backs up to the nozzle then drains somewhere out of the filler pipe onto the floor. Bassically it took me around 10 minutes to put £20 worth of fuel in, that's with spilling a bit.

Do I need to use the filler pipe of the injection tank or is it a simpler fix.

Many thanks.

It will be the breather hose from the filer neck to the tank - it will have kinked I betcha - see some older posts from me!

As he said, the tank needs to breathe as you fill it, no air out= backing up of fuel at the nozzle.

if not try putting the nozzle only half way in. if you were on a empty or near empty tank and you put the nozzle the full way into the tank the pressure from the fumes clicks a sensor in the nozzle and thats why it clicks off.

Why do need any other ideas!?lol

That will be the problem 100% - its from where they have changed the tank and the pipe has kinked.

im having the same problem, mine clicks on 0.60p every time and around the same gap every tim, just dont pull the trigger all the way down, and find the balance where it fills steadily and wont click, might take an extra 5 mins, but better than having it click every 5 seconds :)
