C20let alternator topmount\bolt size

Does anyone know the size\thread of the bolt for the bushes topmount, mine got a m8 but it doesn't tighten, is it m10 etc

so im guessing it has to around 8mm to fit through the bush?? bolt doesnt look that brilliant to be honest mate, i would also check the thread inside the head too as you may have the right size bolt, just nackered threads

You'll need to helicoil the thread. I had to do the same on my inlet.

i just wound mine in and cut a new thread. just assumed there was crap in the hole lol

Originally its a standard m8 thread. Ive got a s/s m8 bolt in mine

As Adam says. Its an M8. New bolt and/or tap FTW.

you will need to borrow or buy a helicoil kit - they include the correct drill and tap, helicoils and an inserting tool.

If you have these its a 2 minute job :thumb:
