View Full Version : C14se problems
Just took my car out for it's first drive and it idled fine in my drive and revd fine
as soon as I pulled away it cut out now it struggles to idle and cuts out when I try to pull away
it's getting fuel and spark and no errors on the eml light
Did you sort the map sensor problem out on it?
Just checked and the plugs are black
Yeah the map sensor has been replaced and working now
If the plugs are black the map sensor is probably goosed as i had the same problem on a 1.4spi engine mate but no EML was on.
The map sensor came from a working car
Took the plugs out cleaned them and it started first time anything else that can cause it to over fuel? No eml light on
really bad adjustment of the mixture screw??
Mine isn't carb it's a Corsa Sri engine
if its a 8v mpi, there should still be a mixture screw somewhere on it.... my e16se has 1 on the afm/ecu
No mixture screw on the CxxSE's as there is no AFM, uses MAP instead.
If the plugs have got that black i.e soaked in fuel they are scrap. Replace them (plain old Vauxhall items are cheap and do the job). Then see where you are. That much overfuelling is normally only one of three things. Lambda sensor, MAP sensor (sensor, wiring or vacuum pipe) or water temp sensor.
CaN anyone tell me exactly where the vaccum pipes go to from the inlet I know one to the map sensor one to the fuel rail and what about the others
Also I shorted something on the back of my clocks so my temp guage dosnt work
also my car will now not turn off with the key lol
There is a take off for the carbon canistor, one for the brake servo (with the one way valve on) and there might be another on the corsa - not sure what that one is for on top of the ones you've got ^^^
I've removed the carbon canitor when fitting the engine to my nova
right done the blink test again and im getting map sensor code 33
ill try another one
also i have a vaccum take off on the right of the inlet one at the back and on just where the airfilter pipe goes
the one on the right is for the fuel rail and the one on the back is for the map sensor
the one beside the airfilter pipe must have been for the charcoal canistor, can i just block this off or T it into the pipe for the map sensor
