View Full Version : need 2 know
i need 2 know if i can get the same power out of my nova (1.4sri) to match my other car (fiat bravo 2.0 hgt) with out doing an engine swap or adding a turbo if so can some1 please tell the mods i will need your help will be excellent.
speak to MC and CP ref this.
Think MC has the nova race car - well fast - its a 1.4 but the engine is well modded - high lift cam, vernier pullies, ported n polished etc etc etc
PM him/then - sure they will oblige

What does hgt stand for?
If it is a standard 8v 2.0 you could make a suped up sri keep up i would have thought.
But if the Bravo is a 16V turbo or something then i think you would struggle!

Would be a challeng but i think it could be done. Go for it. There is another post about how to tune a 1.4 and a sticky on it. Good luck!
with the correct mods it'll be possible to see 130bhp, maybe more with a 1.4. That should be good enough with keeping up with your other car.

what mods would i need because my other car has 147bhp

you wouldnt actually need to get that sort of power from the nova for it to keep up because its a lot lighter.
well ive got the engine in bits so i will have a go. i have had the head stripped, skimmed, ported and rebuilt this week all free of charge so it might even be a cheap car to build ive got some new pistons coming there coming from japan. so far all its cost me is 80 quid and that was just for the car.
for the biggest cheapest gain its the old tale of taking out the rear seats and anything that isnt needed. its the cheapest and most cost effective way to make the car faster by lightening it abit
