right, following on fom andy's thread re: xe to let build, i found this on the bay. i always thought that it was the xe inlet that was fitted with lets, but this guy says otherwise?

believing eBay is on a par with the other greatest lies ever told......ie. the cheque is in the post, my real name is nathan & i did send the parts, i won't come in your mouth etc
and surely its the duration thats the important bit not the lift?
Iirc Paul runs both xe cams in his yellow one

I was thinking the same as Graeme as NA usually has a longer cycle on both ends
and surely its the duration thats the important bit not the lift?
depends how you design the cam.
its all about the effective open time, which can be done with a big lift std duration, or sd lift and big duration etc.
with turbos the key is no inlet/exhaust overlap, and then just getting the ******* valve open as fast as possible for as long as possible

its the inlet you use as it increases overlap, exhaust one decreases it
but its decreased overlap you want in a turbo engine lol
perhaps its that bit more opening time that helps, and you dial out the overlap with the venier etc.
