View Full Version : rear wheel cylinder
gotta replace mine tomorrow anyone know the size of the hub nut?
anything to watch for
22mm IIRC, no, the torque of the rear hub nut is 9NM also IIRC which is next to nothing.
cant remember, its about a 24 i think, but get a brake pipe clamp & put it on the flexi, then really be careful with the brake pipe union into the cylinder... use plenty of wd40 & then be careful, it will most likely strip the hex off & you'll need a mole grip
I use a adjustable spanner on the nut, might be worth putting a new split pin on it tho.

the whole lot has came of the cylinder lol im sure the guy that was bleeding my brakes had the nut undon anyway
strip the rear brake, clean it & copper grease the threads, then re adjust it so it only just turns, if there is a big lip on the drum, it might need grinding off or replacing.
