i have a 1995 n reg corsa sri 1.4 16v and there was a ticking noise coming from inside the cambelt cover i took the top cover off and the cambelt is frade and there are all little dintations on it looks to me as tho a little bit of metal has come off inside and has been bouncing around inside there i ajusted the bottom pully and the ticking stoped but then started again i am going to have to put a new cambelt on it but does anyone have any ideas to what could have course this problem? i havent took the bottom cover off yet i am when i get more time probably ill get my answer then when i take it off
roller could have broken, you need the cover off. No one can diagnose the problem without seeing it. i wouldnt start it again until you have put a new belt kit on it!

dont even run it or turn it over,
the piston to valve are so close, if something happens, new head time

also the marks are on the outside of the belt if that helps
sounds like one for the scrap man imho.

take all the cover off and see what you find, could be a roller...could be a random bolt that always insists on falling down and whoever did it last couldn't be bothered taking it out hoping it would fall out
