There has been a few OEM+ type projects recently and Euro always look funking nice when done properly.

Down to your taste at the end of the day. Maybe a few photoshops of ideas you have may help you pick what to go for.

Pics would be nice though :thumb:

Looks clean mate. That rust looks minor too. A nice base to start with.

Depends what you want from the car. Not much point doing anything to the engine you have atm. However a big block (or small for that matter) with work would go nicely with some throttle boddies or 45's. Good luck with the car its a nice colour!

dont really want to go bigger than a 1.6 as engine bay gettin smoothed and de-wired. which 1.6 engines fit my nova?

Nice wheels, just be careful they don't scrub

"Size: 15x7.0" PCD/Offset: 4 Stud Fitment ET38"

I know more-doors have a bit more room around the arch's, but 7J & ET38 might be pushing it...nice colour too - i got a soft spot for Miami blue for so,e unknown reason

novaproject1

if they scrub ill have to do sum arch work, maybe put 10mm spacers on them as well.

Mazz

10mm will make they ET28

sorry i dont thats why im on here

novaproject1

how will i be able to fit them? if a prob which split rims will fit without problems?

Mazz
06-06-10, 10:55 AM
Putting a 10mm spacer between the wheels and hub will only push the wheel further out into the arch.

As i said, 7" wide wheels (7J) and a 38mm offset (ET38) might just be ok..

Not split rims, but just as nice, perfect fitment and cheap too!

those lenso bsx wheels are not split rims pal...just incase you dident realise

novaproject1
07-06-10, 04:48 PM
yea not actual split rims but have a nice lip to them, my mate at a1 rally sport said he has sum arch extensions for a nova, so might have to rethink my strategy

JamesXP

you have a few different 1.6s to choose

E16SE - from a nova GSI - no cat
C16SE - some nova gsi and corsa gsi's I think - has a cat

these are both single cam 8 valve engines

C16XE - has a cat, no immobiliser to mess about with
X16XE - has a cat, and an immobiliser so you'll need the transponder/key/ring all that stuff

there is also a small block 1.8, the X18XE1 I think

all those engiens are twin cam 16 valve engines

bought vw g60 rims today £100 with ok tyres.
also got a price on rust on the arches and full re-spray £500-£600.
keeping it the same colour.
now cant decide on twin 45 or throttle boddies?

mk1nova_rich

twin 45s are waaaay too big for a 1.2, and still too big for a 1.6 with minimal mods. concentrate on sorting out the rust then brakes and some suspension before thinking about the engine :thumb:
