which way does the notch go, Because someone told me it was to the flywheel but wasnt sure, and i thought it was to the cambelt. just want a little extra confirmation.

there is some stuff in haynes about which way round they go, but its a bit vague to do with arrows & lugs.

for future reference, mark them as you strip them. its way easier.

yes i did mark them up. and they do point to the flywheel. just wanted to make sure, haynes manual doesnt say, well my one doesnt, and with the arrows its to the cambelt because if you look at the indent for the valves there bigger ones and small ones, and obviously bigger would be at the inlet side

on the later ones, there is a lug on both the conrod & the cap that point to the flywheel.
