Hey guys:p
Can people show me some pics of intercoolers fitted the mk1's, need to decide weather to hide it, or show it, or half show it or whateverlol

if you hide it, you will need a gay dumb valve,
look at me, with da turbo lol
Hmm, gte front bumpers are quite enclosed. Man up and chop a big hole in it, or just use a skinny bumper and hang it all out underneath. Sorry don't have any pics to hand.

Gonna have a baily twin piston (obv) lol
I am defo gte, but want it cut neatly if its cut:thumb:
Look at NickJ's lovely SR
I know its not a GTE but you get the idea

what ever costs less, as the ditch will find you
Serious answer, it should really have nothing in front of it to impede the airflow, otherwise you'll be making it less efficient/pointless. Or, if you don't want it hanging out the bumper, fit a TMIC and bonnet scoop.

bulgetastic
Show just a lil bit to make people think "is it?"

i think given the nickability of the nova, i'd always say hide what you can

I thought hiding it defeats the whole object of having a FMIC. More airflow means cooler air. I'm on the look out for IC that'll fit infront of the rad. I'll probably have it at least half showing if not full.

2nd pic looks smart Rich, not to over the top but still functional

Exactly that, a FMIC thats hidden behind a bumper will be worse than a TMIC.
Anyone who is worried about "hiding" the cooler should consider a small bonnet scoop with TMIC underneath.

Cheers people's
Gonna go for a shown one, but not a huge one.
Think rich's is a nice size tbh.
It wont be easy to rob, as It will be stored in a garage, with 4 locks on, and will live on stands with the wheels off for the forseeable future.
And nova's are hard to steal, especially, with a batt cut off, fuel cutoff, and no king lead on the coil, snap off steering wheel, and a decent alarm and imobiliser.
May aswell leave the keys in it lol

Especially now you know to bring some wires, a king lead, a fuel pump and steering wheel lol

Before you have been stabbed in the head by my physcho grandad?
lol
You wouldnt fit through the garage doorlol

So now we know where it is and what to take to steal it? Awesome.
I've hidden mine, yet its still in direct air flow. It sits right in the middle of the "mouth" in the bumper. My inlet temps never been above 17o even in the sun.

How much of a gap between the rad do i leave?
For the air to escape at the back?

They can touch, ideally not. But frontal airflow is massively important.
Benns track day bumper seems awfully hidden IMO. Melted pistons wont thank him for that.
My Rad touches the Ic, but only just. You wanna keep it a far forward as you can.
The air will get thru both (on top of each other)
Stick your head out the window at 50mph, and you will realise air gets through the IC to the Rad quite easily.... ;)

Didn't see the edit. The ic in still in the mouth with the track bumper plus with the plate off you get...

The cut out hits the top ic and rad. Rad temps didn't go past the 1/4 line...
So i believe its getting enough air...
