View Full Version : Fuel pump noise
Currently I'm running my fuel pump straight from a spare battery as I'm waiting on a relay coming
my pump is actually quite noisy plenty petrol in and starts and idles fine haven't actually drove it yet though
could the noise be because I'm running it straight from a battery? It's an external pump from a gsi I think

Doubt the noise is anything to do with how it's getting power. Either something inside there or it's gonna go soon.
What sort of noise is it making? A very slight faint buzz is normal but anything louder and very noticable isn't right.

is your car stripped out, is the pump on rubber mounts ???
its mounted on rubber mounts and is like a loud buzzing noise, it starts quiet for a couple seconds then gets noisy
new fuel lines and filter

May have dried the greese in the bearings?
Has it been anywhere hot?
Don't have a clue where it's been
